APPETIZERS

Rav Sampler
Four of our original handcrafted “ravs” topped with either Capisce “gravy,” butter and cheese, or a taste of each “1/2 and 1/2!”

Artichoke Dip
Warm, creamy artichoke heart spread served with bread for dipping

Steamed Clams and Mussels
A beautiful shellfish sight to behold!  An appetizer portion of our clams and mussels are gently steamed and tossed with Corto extra virgin olive oil, white wine, lots of fresh garlic, and an herb-pine nut-breadcrumb topping!

Rav Sliders
Our handcrafted sausage ravioli sandwiched between focaccia slider buns

Meatball Sliders

SOUPS AND SALADS

Capisce Soup
More fondly referred to as “Wop Soup” in our house, but so as not to offend anyone with our humor…we bring you Capisce soup!  Using Nanny’s techniques, we lovingly combine lots of garlic, a pork based broth, vegetables, beans, and a bit of pasta to satisfy and warm your tummy! Cup /Bowl

Tortilla Soup
Not one of our Italian dishes, but an often requested favorite by family and friends!  Tender shredded chicken and vegetables simmered in a slightly spicy broth topped with crispy tortillas and cheese Cup /Bowl

House Salad
Lovely mixed baby greens, a few fresh veggies for good measure, mixed with our house handcrafted creamy Italian dressing…mmmmmmmmm Half /Full

Caesar Salad
Romaine lettuce tossed in our handmade famous creamy Caesar dressing. We will even top it off with a few anchovy fillets if that fits your fancy…just let us know! Half /Full

Caprese Salad
Fresh mozzarella slices, plump red tomatoes, and basil drizzled with a bit of our Italian dressing Half /Full

Apple Cranberry Tossed Salad
Mixed baby greens topped with green apples, grapes, toasted pecans, dried cranberries, pancetta, and crumbled gorgonzola.  We think you will love this with our handcrafted slightly tangy/sweet Dijon vinaigrette

Bleu Lago Wedge
A cool, crisp wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with our handcrafted bleu cheese dressing, the finest pancetta, a bit of red onion, tomato, and bleu cheese crumbles

Italian Wedge
A cool, crisp wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with our handcrafted Italian dressing, Italian meats, olives, peppers, and a bit of red onion

The Paul Reder Salad
One of our most loved Capisce regulars, Tahoe resident Paul is the founder of PR Entertainment and responsible for bringing in many headlining entertainment events not only to our Tahoe region, but around the world!  A spicy blackened breast of chicken is served atop a bed of mixed baby greens, lots of fresh veggies, a bit of shredded mozzarella cheese, and our creamy Italian dressing!  Ohhhh snap!!

PASTA

Original Ravs
Our family speciality!  Pillows of handcrafted pasta stuffed with Italian pork sausage meat combined with imported cheeses to bring you a truly unique morsel for your mouth…each one lovingly shaped by hand!  Traditionally served with our Capisce “gravy”, but try them with butter and cheese as well, or let us do 1/2 gravy 1/2 butter and cheese for a taste of each!  Our youngest, Annalyse, is our champion rav eater!

Cheese Ravs
Pillows of our handcrafted pasta stuffed with a glorious blend of imported cheeses.  Choose your sauce (one): Capisce “gravy”, pesto, spicy, Alfredo, red sauce, or butter and cheese

Lasagna
Layers of noodles, our rich red sauce, meats, and smoothly melted cheeses make this a comforting Italian experience!

Spicy Lasagna
Layers of noodles, cheeses, spicy cream sauce, sweet bell peppers, chicken,  andouille sausage and a bit of green onion make this a new favorite of many paesano!

Spaghetti and Meatballs
Simple, but oh so good!  Spaghetti pasta tossed with our Capisce “gravy” and topped with our handcrafted original meatballs!

Super Spicy Gi Pasta
Linguini tossed with a spicy cream sauce (and we mean spicy!), andouille sausage, shrimp, bell peppers, onion and a splash of vino!  A dish inspired by our daughter, Gianna, who loves spicy!  If you aren’t into spicy as much as our Gi…we are happy to cut back on the heat…let us know!

Portobello Mushroom Pasta
A baked portobello mushroom cap filled with pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese served atop a bed of our butter and cheese pasta…a meal fit for a Romeo or a Juliet!

Chicken Pesto
Linguini tossed with our creamy handmade pesto sauce and slices of sautéed boneless chicken breast

Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
Fettuccine tossed in a buttery, creamy, Parmigiano-Reggiano sauce and slices of sautéed boneless chicken breast

Pasta Bolognese
For those who love a red marinara sauce, this dish is for you!  We toss linguini pasta with juicy ground beef, our specially selected Italian sausage meat, and our hearty red sauce…Mangia!

Penne Amore
We take penne pasta with a creamy Alfredo sauce and marry it with sweet peas, crispy pancetta, chicken, and shrimp and pop it in the oven until it is warm and bubbly…mmmmmm…a great meal!

Eggplant Parmesan
Eggplant lightly breaded, fried, and topped with our Capisce “gravy” and melted cheeses.  Served atop a bed of butter and cheese pasta

The Trio
If you can’t decide on one pasta, how about a taste of three?  This dish gives you a smaller portion of our comforting lasagna, a few of our famous original ravs, and your choice of a bit of spicy pasta or chicken pesto!

CHICKEN

Artichoke Chicken
A customer favorite for sure!  A tender boneless breast sautéed and then topped with our warm, chunky marinated artichoke heart spread and a bit of melted cheese!  Served over your choice of risotto or butter and cheese pasta

Chicken Piccata
A tender boneless breast dipped in a light egg wash and drizzled with a lemon/caper/green olive sauce.  If you like the flavor of lemon, pucker up, this is for you!  Served over your choice of risotto or butter and cheese pasta

Chicken Parmigiana
A boneless breast of chicken topped with Capisce “gravy” and melted cheeses.  Served atop a bed of butter and cheese pasta


VEAL

Veal Piccata
Tender veal dipped in a light egg wash and drizzled with a lemon/caper, green olive sauce.  If you like the flavor of lemon, pucker up, this is for you!  Served over your choice of risotto or butter and cheese pasta

Veal Parmigiana
Tender veal lightly dredged in flour and topped with Capisce “gravy” and melted cheeses.  Served atop a bed of butter and cheese pasta


SEAFOOD

My Nanny’s Cioppino
Ooooookaaaaay!  You’re gonna LOVE this seafood stew of clams, mussels, crab, shrimp, scallops, and white fish served amidst our zippy red cioppino sauce!

Papa’s Seafood Pasta
Papa worked in the seafood industry in San Francisco for YEARS, so his light shines through in this mixture of linguini, creamy white wine/garlic sauce, shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops…let’s see what else the boat brings in!

Lobster Campanelle
Beautiful campanelle pasta; delicate, sweet lobster meat; mushrooms, and fresh spinach are tossed in a buttery, creamy Parmigiano-Reggiano sauce…can you say Perfetto??!!  One of Lisa’s favorite family recipes!

Scallops Au Gratin
Sweet scallops baked in a garlic wine sauce and lightly topped with a crispy au gratin topping.  Served with risotto…the best!

Clam Linguini
Sweet, delicious chopped baby clams are tossed with linguini and your choice of either our zippy RED clam sauce or creamy WHITE sauce

Baked Salmon
So yummy…baked and bathed in white wine and fresh lemon juice.  Can also be topped with pesto for a superb alternative!  Coupled with our risotto on the side…Simply Bellissimo!

Steamed Clams and Mussels

Arianna’s Shrimp Scampi
Prawns gently sautéed in our creamy scampi sauce.  Served mixed into a glorious bowl of linguini or aside a bed of risotto.  Our daughter, Arianna, looooves this dish!

STEAKS

Marinated Flank Steak
A favorite of our son, Bryan, flank steak is marinated in a blend of teriyaki, Worcestershire, garlic, and a touch of red wine!  Served with your choice of either risotto, fresh broccoli casserole, or a scoop of spaghetti!  Lisa suggests substituting a side of Ravs

Grilled Rib Eye
Our family’s favorite cut of beef, especially when Dad used to be a journeyman butcher by trade!  Grilled and served with your choice of either risotto, fresh broccoli casserole, or a scoop of spaghetti.  Lisa suggests substituting a side of Ravs

 
ZUGHETTI
What is Zughetti??? An unbelievably delicious, light, healthy alternative to regular pasta!  Fresh zucchini and yellow crook-neck squash are spiral cut to form spaghetti-shaped “noodles.”  Try some of our Zughetti suggestions below, or substitute it in any of our pasta dishes in lieu of traditional spaghetti or linguini!

Zughetti with Your Favorite Sauce
Our Zughetti is simply topped with your choice of our porcini mushroom “GRAVY”, pesto, spicy sauce, alfredo, or bolognese!

Zughetti Oliva
Our Zughetti is tossed in delicious Corto extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic, green, black, and kalamata olives, fresh tomato, and topped with crumbled feta cheese!  Can you feel the love?

About Our Risotto
Our rustic risotto. made with a long grain rice and all of the techniques taught to Lisa by her Nanny, takes on a heartier texture which allows the palate to enjoy the flavors of garlic, lots of vino, and the oh sweet onions.

Steak and Mushroom
Atop a bed of our rustic risotto lies slices of marinated flank steak, sautéed white button mushrooms, and onions…it doesn’t get much better!

Shrimp and Mushroom
Atop a bed of our rustic risotto lies gently sautéed shrimp, white button mushrooms, and onions.

Chicken and Mushroom
Atop a bed of our rustic risotto lies gently sautéed strips of chicken breast, white button mushrooms, and onions.

BUN-ana-split
Are you ready for this???  A Lisa’s Bun surrounded by two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream topped with our handmade strawberry preserve, handmade pineapple preserve, bordered by fresh banana, drizzled with rich and gooey chocolate sauce, and, of course, whipped cream to top it all off! Y.O.L.O.!!!!

Tiramisu
A rich and creamy custard sandwiched between espresso infused lady fingers and a sprinkle of Ghirardelli cocoa!  Our friends say…Wow!

Banana Pudding
Fresh bananas, shortbread cookies, and a creamy vanilla custard makes this dessert one that is asked for again and again and AGAIN!

Chocolate Lasagna
Layers of yummy goodness!  Oreo cookie crust, sweet mascarpone, chocolate mousse, and a special whipped cream topping!  Oh Yes!

Capizookie
Our family’s version of this fun dessert!  Served warm from the oven, this family cookie recipe is a blend of chocolate chips, M&Ms, oatmeal, and peanut butter and is topped with vanilla bean ice cream…Perfetto!

Scoop of Spumoni
While supplies last…Papa used to love a scoop of this Italian inspired ice cream that contains candied fruits and nuts, whipped cream, chocolate, and pistachios!
