2006 Thomas Fogarty Gewurztraminer, Monterey Tell-tale aromas of rose and ginger lead to a dry palate full of tropical fruit, white flowers, and spice. Exotic, yet elegant, with vibrant acidity and minerality, and great balance of fruit, spice, and freshness. The sugar level is quite low for a Gewurz, 4/1 Oths of one percent, meaning the richness of its character is owed not to sugar, but to the Ventana and Scheid vineyards in Monterey from which it hails.
